What's New In DynusT/DynuStudio V2.0?

In 2017, the University of Arizona restated DynusT’s proprietary software status and licensed DynusT to Metropia Inc. with the goal of propelling software development and enhancing user support.

Through the DynusT/DynuStudio V2.0 platform, agencies and planners can employ the most advanced modeling features and capabilities available to develop multi-resolution models that better account for operational analysis related to capacity constraints, non-recurring congestion, emergency infrastructure failure and ITS strategies, among others. The DynusT/DynuStudio V2.0 platform incorporates a number of advanced tools and capabilities including:

  • Continuously Distributed Value-of-Time (VoT) Assignment Perform computationally efficient vehicle assignments with VoTs for each individual vehicle drawn from a continuous distribution. After years of research, the DynusT research team invented a groundbreaking technique to enable this functionality without any run time increase. This feature has been successfully tested and verified in the recently completed SHRP C10 project for the Atlanta Regional Council.

  • 100% Faster Post-Simulation Output Conversion and Processing[if !supportLists] Process and convert your simulation outputs 100% faster than previously possible thanks to a revamping of DynusT’s underlying file system. The faster outputs lead to increased productivity, particularly for a large number of scenario runs.

  • Increased Number of User Classes [if !supportLists] Assign up to ten user classes (compared to the previous three classes (SOV, HOV and Truck) for greater flexibility and accuracy. Each user class can be assigned with differentiating attributes such as values of time, road pricing, turning restrictions and fuel consumption, among others to accommodate a wider range of scenarios. The increased number of user classes was instrumental for the models recently completed as part of the SHRP2 C10 projects.

  • Bottleneck Analysis Tool[if !supportLists] Visualize network congestion patterns in fine-time intervals, enabling a quicker identification of bottleneck-forming. Additional filtering options can be used to narrow the bottleneck search by congestion severity and duration. This powerful tool makes it easier to troubleshoot complex and congested networks.

  • Vast New Array of Visualization Features[if !supportLists] Apply new visualization features for a more in-depth analysis, including the ability to view diurnal profiles by trip purpose, O-D desire lines, animated signal phasing, Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram (MFD) in 3D view, multi-scenario link Measure of Effectiveness (MOE) comparison and more.
